1. What is a Chiropractor? 

A specialist in neuromuscular skeletal conditions and how they impact our physical and mental health

2. What kind of training do Chiropractors receive?

At least 3 yrs of undergraduate college before attending a 4 year program at an accredited chiropractic school. Followed by requirements to pass a 4 part national board exam. 

3. What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractors believe the body's musculoskeletal structure must be aligned correctly to prevent health issues.

Each patient receives care tailored toward their unique symptoms.

Treatments are non-surgical and non-invasive.

4. What is an adjustment? 

A gentle, controlled sudden force applied to a joint to improve mobility and relieve discomfort. 

5. Is Chiropractic appropriate for children and babies?

It is safe for babies and children to receive chiropractic care. Some babies receive care shortly after birth. 

Chiro care for babies can reduce colic, improve sleep, relieve pain, treat torticollis, and more.

Chiro care for children can assist with proper alignment during growth, optimize nervous system function, improve concentration and mood, prevent spinal stress or curvatures, etc. 

6. Can you receive chiropractic care during pregnancy?

Yes!

Many women find that chiropractic care during pregnancy alleviates pains and discomfort associated with pregnancy. 

7. How many visits does it take to get better with chiropractic care? 

Every body is different, for some, treatments can resolve the issue faster than others. 

Many factors determine the speed of recovery such as: age, genetics, patient compliance, supplements, etc. 

8. Is Chiropractic care expensive?

Chiropractic care is comparatively not expensive. Many patients pay a small co-pay before insurance kicks in. You may find that chiropractic care is more affordable than numerous medications and injections a patient receives before seeking a chiropractor.

9. Are chiropractic treatments painful?

Generally, no. For some patients, a minor discomfort may be experienced but not painful. We can offer suggestions to reduce discomfort at home like ice packs or a heating pad. Home stretches may also be helpful after chiropractic care. 

10. What symptoms can chiropractors treat? 

To name a few: Pain, cramping, inflammation, reduced range of motion, headache.

Sauna

1. Who should avoid sauna treatments?

Individuals experiencing unstable angina pectoris, recent myocardial infarction, severe aortic stenosis, severe high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism and any onset/existing cold, flu and influenza.

Pregnant women should consult their physician prior to the use of the sauna. Excessive body temperatures have a potential for causing fetal damage during the early days of pregnancy.

2. What should be done to prepare for the sauna treatment?

Hydrate! Make sure you have had plenty of water prior to your sauna session. 

It is advised to eat a moderate meal 2 hours prior to session.

Cold Plunge

1. Who should avoid cold plunge treatments?

Contraindications include: individuals with cardiovascular conditions, Raynaud's phenomenon, peripheral vascular disease, pregnancy and impaired sensation to name a few. 

2. Why do a cold plunge?

Improves immunity, boots metabolism, manage pain and inflammation, reduce stress, boosts mood and alertness. 

Compression Boots

1. Who should avoid compression boots?

Individuals with peripheral vascular disease, leg burns/ulcers/bruises and suspicion of a deep vein thrombosis (blood clot). 

2. Benefits of Compression Boot Therapy

Treatment for venous and lymphatic conditions, increased circulation in the legs and muscular relaxation.
